Process Safety Engineer

The role

We regularly recruit experienced Safety Engineers to work with a major energy and energy transition engineering group in Paris. You contribute from the FEED stage onwards on production units, including low carbon projects.

Your responsibilities

• Carry out preliminary risk analyses and take part in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL and LOPA reviews.
• Perform or manage hazardous area classification, consequence modelling and QRA studies.
• Define active and passive fire protection, fire and gas detection and personnel protection.
• Develop escape, evacuation and rescue studies and identify Safety Critical Elements.
• Take part in plot plan and 3D model reviews, write technical specifications and follow up vendors.
• Work closely with the process, piping, civil and instrumentation disciplines.

Your profile

• At least 10 years of experience in safety engineering within Oil & Gas, petrochemical or energy transition sectors.
• Experience of FEED and detailed engineering phases on EPC projects.
• Hands on use of consequence modelling tools (PHAST, FLACS or equivalent) and of API, NFPA and ISO 13702 standards.
• Ability to chair safety reviews and defend technical choices.
• Professional English is essential.
