ICSS Safety System Engineer

The role

We regularly recruit Safety System Engineers to work with a major Oil & Gas engineering group on onshore and offshore EPC projects. You take ownership of control and safety system studies, from specification through to validation.

Your responsibilities

• Carry out ICSS safety system studies (DCS, SIS, ESD, F&G) for onshore and offshore facilities.
• Take part in HAZID and HAZOP reviews and translate their outcomes into functional safety requirements.
• Write functional specifications, cause and effect matrices and control system network architectures.
• Perform SIL verification calculations in line with IEC 61511 using dedicated tools (GRIF, exSILentia or equivalent).
• Follow up ICSS vendors, attend FAT and support system installation and validation.
• Coordinate with the process, instrumentation and safety disciplines.

Your profile

• At least 10 years of experience in control and safety systems engineering, including significant exposure to Oil & Gas EPC projects.
• Strong command of IEC 61511 and IEC 61508 and of SIL studies.
• Knowledge of the main DCS and SIS platforms and of industrial network architectures.
• Hands on experience of HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA reviews.
• Professional English is essential, as all project documentation is in English.
